Wordstock is an exciting new literary festival which will be held in Collingwood, Ontario on September 10 -11, 2010. It is a celebration of WORDS and LITERARY ARTS in written and other artistic forms of expression that you won’t want to miss!. The Friday evening opening show will be an extraordinary event bringing together the history, culture and genres of literary arts and art in Collingwood. On Saturday, events including author readings, poetry, workshops, children and teen events will all be hosted at venues in the downtown core; in the new LEED certified Library; throughout BIA shops; the Farmers Market Square; an arts facility and, an historic downtown theatre. With the exception of the opening night showcase, all events will be FREE OF CHARGE. Wordstock will embrace contemporary and classical forms of the written word against a backdrop of music, art and performance. Renowned writers will mix with local writers as programmes and workshops weave themselves into a rich and exciting tapestry of celebration.
