| Description: |
Quest Art School + Gallery's Second Annual Steam Roller Printmaking Event was held on Saturday, July 24, 2010 in Midland, on Dominion Avenue, just a block from our location at 264 King Street.
This year participating artists included Marilyn Green, Rod Prouse, Xavier Fernandes, Merrilyn Pinkney, Tamara Benoit and Sharon MacKinnon. Each artist created their own oversized woodblock plate which was inked-up and printed with the aid of a steam roller - that's right, they drove right over the printing plate to make giant, original relief prints.
Each artist has donated one print for auction, with proceeds going to Quest Art School & Gallery's educational programs. The prints will be on display at Quest Art School & Gallery from August 9 to September 16, 2010. The closing reception will take place on September 16, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Images of the prints may be seen on the website.
Bid will be accepted in the gallery and on-line by e-mailing questart1@rogers.com. On-line bids will be accepted until 5 p.m. on September 16, 2010. Bids will be accepted by phone and in-person ONLY between 5 and 8 p.m. on September 16. The auction closes at 8 p.m., September 16.
